El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo general, la utilización de datos colectados en el terreno, así como datos obtenidos mediante percepción remota, para evaluar y analizar los mecanismos y funciones mediante cuales diversos tipos de cobertura de suelo en zonas áridas proveen servicios ecosistemicos de producción de agua y captura-almacenamiento de carbono, tomando como unidad de estudio la cuenca hidrológica.

The work proposed here, seeks to develop protocols, using remote sensing and spatial analysis, to monitor and assess 1) the historic vegetation and land cover distribution and change within the Northern Jaguar Reserve (NJR) in a way that allows long-term future monitoring, as well as 2) the vegetation trajectory/recovery and function after the implementation of the land use policies delineated by the reserve.
